How do I use my mail client to access my mail using POP3 or IMAP?

You need to use an email client such as Outlook, Windows Live, Apple Mail, etc. to access your email via POP3 or IMAP.  Please see EMAIL SETUP for more information.

These devices can access our servers via IMAP or POP3.  Please see EMAIL SETUP for more information.

How do I access the webmail system?

Webmail is accessed at www.mailmt.com.  You should be able to access this from any computer anywhere.

What is the difference between POP3/IMAP/Webmail?

POP3 stores messages on your computer.  Mail is delivered to your mailbox. When you go out to collect the mail, you will remove the mail from your mailbox and store it on your computer.  IMAP stores messages on our server.  When you read your mail it stays on our server.  Webmail is just IMAP being used with a web browser.  Once again mail stays on our server.  IMAP has the advantage of being able to keep multiple devices "in sync" with each other.  IMAP has the disadvantage of leaving the mail on our server.  This will fill your mailbox quota up quicker.  When using IMAP or webmail, we recommend you download important or large emails.  Myakka Technologies will do our best to prevent data loss, but we are not responsible for emails left on our system.  If it is important, please download it to your local computer or print it out.

I am getting errors when I try to send email.

  1. Make sure you are connected to the Internet.  If you are not connected to the Internet, you will not be able to send mail.
  2. Make sure your outgoing server is set to mail.mailmt.com
  3. If trying to send outside our network, you need to use SMTP port 587.  See EMAIL SETUP for more information.
  4. If getting bounce back messages, read what the error is.  If the receiving server reports a bad address, double check the address.  If you don't understand the message, please forward the full message to Mark, Charley or John.

How do I use a different SMTP server?

If you want to connect to a different SMTP server, you must use a secure connection or a secondary port.  For example: if your domain is hosted by GoDaddy and you want to use the GoDaddy SMTP server, you will need to use one of the GoDaddy secondary ports (80, 587, 3535).  View the GoDaddy setup HERE.  If you are using a third party hosting company, we recommend using their SMTP server.  You can use our server at mail.mailmt.com, but some receiving severs may mark your email as SPAM.

I am getting errors receiving email.

  1. Make sure you are connected to the Internet.  If you are not connected to the Internet, you will not be able to receive mail.
  2. Make sure your incoming server is set to mail.mailmt.com
  3. Make sure you are using your FULL email address as the username.
  4. Try signing in at the webmail page - www.mailmt.com.
  5. Try disabling your anti-virus software to see if it is conflicting with your mail.  DO NOT leave your anti-virus software disabled.  This is just a test to see if the anti-virus software is conflicting with your email client.

People sending me emails are getting errors.

If they are getting a bounce message, they can forward this message to MyakkaTech@yahoo.com.  We will analyze the message and let you both know why it was bounced.

I'm not receiving some emails.

Please sign into the webmail system at www.mailmt.com and check your SPAM folder.  If it is in the SPAM folder, please see "How does the SPAM folder work".  Please confirm with the sender they are sending to the correct address.

How does the SPAM folder work?

If a message is flagged as SPAM it will be moved to the SPAM folder.  If you are missing an email, this is the first place to look.  Sign into the webmail system at www.mailmt.com and check the SPAM folder.  If a good message is in the SPAM folder, you can click on then Accept Sender button to automatically add this sender to your whitelist.  Accept Sender in webmail lite is the last button in list of buttons.  On the tuxedo system it is in the upper-right hand corner next to the message count.

What is the difference between Webmail Lite and Tuxedo?

Tuxedo has a more advanced user interface.  Works more like a email client than a webmail client.  To select messages in webmail lite, you must click on box like you are filling in a webform.  In tuxedo, you use the shift & ctrl keys while clicking with the mouse, similar to a widows program (outlook).  tuxedo also supports auto-complete in certain input boxes.  Tuxedo and webmail lite are interchangable, they use the same data.  You can freely switch between the two and not lose emails, contacts, etc.  We encourage you to try both and see which one you like the best.

How do I select multiple items in the Tuxedo system?

Tuxedo uses a more advanced user interface.  This interface mimics the standard windows interface for selecting items.  If you want to select one item, just click on it.  If you want to select a block of items, click on the first item and then hold the shift key down and click on the last item in the list.  If you want to select multiple random items, click on the first item, then hold the ctrl key down and continue to click on the other items.

How do I retrieve addresses when sending/forwarding emails in Tuxedo?

Tuxedo uses an advanced auto-complete feature.  When sending or forwarding an email, you can just start typing the email address.  As you type tuxedo will scan your address book and popup a list of possible matches.

How do I get images to load on my emails in webmail?

In tuxedo, click on settings, Displaying Messages.  Make sure HTML is checked. Display Remote Inline Images to always. Display attached images below message should NOT be checked.  In webmail lite, click options, Display Preferences.  Make sure "Show HTML Version by Default" and "Display Attached Images with Messages" are both check.  The first time you access a message with an image, you may be asked about content from a unsecured site.  You should answer NO to this question.  Webmail lite will not display external images for security reasons.  If you want to see external images, use tuxedo.
